Office Artist

A towering curve of yellow interoffice envelopes sits in the lobby of a Portland office building. This is the work of Visual Artist Larissa Brown. After this office worker took a sculpture class, she became inspired to make art pieces from the supplies at work -- shipping tags, staplers, and typewriter ribbon.

Gusto Women

Care giving is different with every scenario. Resources are often limited, especially help with the activities of daily living. Hilda Bengtson is a single mother of two young adult women. Dawn Cottrell is her friend. Together they have organized a caregiving circle to meet Hilda's needs as she proceeds through the stages of cancer. Their friendship began when they were both therapists and part of a team of mental health workers. Kate Welch talked with both women about their care giving relationship in this piece - a part of the Breast Cancer Radio Arts Project.
